Electric Vehicle Cable, Connector and Fusing Studies

Electric vehicles require a "high" voltage (>300Vdc) and "high" current (>60Adc) power distribution system to connect between batteries, motor/generator and charging units. Much research is on-going in understanding the behaviour of these systems under degradation and fault conditions. This project focuses on the degradation of cables under mechanical impacts and the behaviour of circuit protection devices under these conditions.
