Impact Solutions is delighted to deliver three short talks to the MSc group for analytical chemistry. Impact has over 25 years’ experience in the testing and development of sustainable process technology and is a market leader for testing across a range of industries from automotive and aerospace through to life sciences, packaging, and recycling. As a UKAS accredited test laboratory, Impact tests commercial products for determination of mechanical properties, testing the limits of containment tanks in harsh environments and biodegradation assessment for commercial plastics.

All three of our speakers are also Alumni of Heriot-Watt university. Trevor Hinchcliffe is the Innovations manager at Impact solutions with 30 years’ experience working in the polymer industry. Samuel Patterson is a recent PhD graduate from the lab of Filipe Vilela, now the Research Lead for polymers and advanced materials at Impact. Fraser Borthwick is a chemical engineering graduate having completed a masters project with Humphrey Yiu, now a Research Specialist for enabling technologies at IS.

Our symposium will consist of three talks,
