Lattice-Boltzmann Simulations of Biological Flows

The computational modelling is an emerging tool for flow simulations of complex biomedical systems. These simulations are used to provide additional insights into tissue biology and underlying physiology. However, accuracy and computational efficiency of these simulations are crucial to deliver clinically relevant results. Hence, there is a need of versatile numerical methods for simulations of flow in biological tissues. In this study, we will develop a particle-based lattice Boltzmann method for biological flows and validate the developed models through comparisons with available experimental data.
