Mesh radio for connecting remote orienteering controls

Orienteering requires people to go to remote checkpoints. To ensure they go to these checkpoints there are electronic controls that have to be visited. At some events it is useful to know who has been to a remote control before they return with their RFID card to show they have been to a control. This project is to develop a system that reads data from the control over a serial link and transmits this data over a RF link back to the central results system. The project will review the alternative approaches to tackling this problem and produce and test a design of a working system.
