Structure-property relations for biodegradable elastomers

We are working on a vaccine delivery device, which will spontaneously deliver a booster bolus shot weeks to months after implantation, due to osmotic swelling and rupture. To aid in designing the material for the capsule, we need to investigate the influence of molecular architecture (mainly crosslink density or molecular weight distribution) on mechanical properties, mainly elongation at break. This involves a literature study of similar materials and fitting their data into models, as well as a priori predictions based on rubber elasticity theory.
