Feasibility study of a nanostructured roller printer

Nanostructure based materials are commonly used in our everyday life in many different fields, such as electronics, biology, energy and more. Functional nanometre-scale structures exhibit properties that are fundamentally different from their bulk counterparts. The size and shape of these nanostructures primarily affects their electromagnetic properties as well as surface characteristics. This project focuses on a feasibility study of developing a roller printer that can be used to print 3D nanostructures (such as pyramid, anti-pyramid, etc.) on selected materials through a thermal embossing process. Finite element analysis and some proof-of-concept experiments will be involved in this work.
