Improvement of an assembly system for miniaturized products (2023/24)

How to assemble miniaturized products efficiently is still challenging. An assembly system, the components of which cost around £50,000, has been developed at Heriot-Watt recently. This project is to improve the efficiency of this affordable assembly system from novel gripper design, 6D pose estimation, calibration, process planning or digital twin modelling based on the expertise and interest of the students.
