Recent years have seen dramatic changes in the expectations of consumers when purchasing and using a product or service. In response, engineers and designers have had to adapt the way they work and the tools they use. Changes are also required in response to ‘Industry 4.0’, which is revolutionising manufacturing processes.
This talk will cover a brief history of the software tools that engineers have used over the years, from CAD to PLM, and go into detail on the latest development from Dassault Systemes, the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. This will include examples of how engineers from several companies are using the software in their live projects as they adapt to Industry 4.0.
Biography:
I have a degree in Physics from the University of Southampton and have worked in the field of engineering software throughout my career. I am currently the Academic Representative for Dassault Systemes throughout northern Europe.
