This presentation describes a bridge diode rectifier operating at 2.4GHz for use in wireless power transmission systems with motivations to wirelessly charge an electronic device in the radiating near-field. A retrodirective antenna array which provides a high power RF gain has been designed and measured as well as a rectenna to convert RF power to DC. The rectifier of the rectenna offers a full-wave-rectification and exhibits a 76% efficiency for 26dBm and 74% at 27dBm while also providing more than 60% of efficiency from 15dBm to 29dBm of input RF power at 2.4 GHz.
Samuel A. Rotenberg was born in Paris, France, in 1990. He received his French engineer diploma in numerical system and an MSc diploma in network communication at Heriot Watt university in 2016. in 2015, he received as well a postgraduate degree in Auckland university, New Zealand in robotic, smartphone security and 3D vision. Currently, living Edinburgh U.K, his research interests include retrodirective and rectifier systems focused on wireless power transmission applications, radar for automotive vehicles and analysis and design of waveguide.
