Synopsis:

This compact parallel plate waveguide feeder can launch the fundamental TEM mode into parallel plate while also being low profile and easy to fabricate. The engineered wave front with controlled amplitude and uniform phase distribution,
can generate a desired aperture for conventional printed antenna structures and other integrated feed systems. For example, this launcher may be useful when feeding planar, parallel-plate slot-array antennas in PCB technology. The launcher is implemented using a substrate integrated waveguide transmission line and its design is based on leaky wave theory.

Biography:

Victoria Gómez-Guillamón Buendía was born in Murcia, Spain, in 1990. She received the M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT), Spain, in 2015. She is currently working towards the PhD degree at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. Her research interests include techniques for efficient surface wave excitation for planar leaky-waves antennas.
