Coherent structures in optical combs

Optical frequency comb is an example of the practical application of the soliton theory. I will discuss nonlinear science underlying optical frequency comb, with the focus on generation of the coherent optical structures and potential of the knowledge transfer from the fibre laser physics to frequency comb technology.
