Synopsis: 

The AtkinsRéalis Engineering Net Zero lecture will explore:
• The UK’s progress towards a net zero power system in 2035;
• A selection of low-carbon power generation technologies, such as hydrogen;
Our aim is to provide a good understanding of the current technology makeup of the UK power grid (i.e., gas power plants, some renewables, etc.) and give consideration about what the future might look like and the effort needed to get there.

This seminar is targeted to audiences at Masters and Final Year students, both from a science and technology aspect and as an employment opportunity in this industry sector.

Topics: The presenters will cover a general introduction around net zero power in the UK, followed by a deep dive into net zero technologies – likely to focus on hydrogen and CCS.
