Accelerating Adaptive Signal Processing: High-Speed Algorithms for the Next Generation Communication Systems

Mon, 22/04/2024 - 13:30 to 15:30

Location:

Speaker:
Dr. Mohd Tasleem Khan
Affiliation:
Assistant Professor, HWU
Synopsis:

In today's fast-paced world, the demand for efficient signal processing in embedded systems is more critical than ever, especially with the advent of next-generation communication technologies like 6G, where data transmission rates are expected to soar to unprecedented levels. This presentation delves deeply into the realm of adaptive signal processing, focusing particularly on the Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm in high-speed scenarios. The LMS algorithm stands as a cornerstone in adaptive signal processing, offering robustness and flexibility in handling real-time data streams, making it particularly well-suited for 6G scenarios. Through a comprehensive exploration of the high-speed LMS algorithm, attendees will gain insights into its mechanisms for adaptively adjusting filter coefficients from rapidly changing signals with joint pipelining and block processing techniques. Moreover, the presentation sheds light on the intricate process of modeling, quantization, and ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) implementation of the high-speed LMS algorithm. By delving into these aspects, the presentation aims to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in optimizing algorithms for high-speed data processing, equipping them with valuable insights and strategies to navigate the challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving landscape of 6G communication systems.
