Building the eyes for A.I. - Computationally Enhanced Electro-Optical Sensing

The growing use of automation demands an ever increasing degree of situational awareness for machine learning enhanced systems. In this talk I will present my PhD work, focusing on various machine learning enhanced imaging experiments at different wavelenghts. From visible-wavelength Single-photon Lidars, through drones, digital twins, and motion capture suits, to automotive mmWave Radar systems, I will explore the relationship between machine learning algorithms and novel sensing systems.
