Synopsis:

Science has achieved incredible progress in preventing illness and finding cures, but persistent challenges like disability and dementia remain, and they demand a different approach. Today, much of care still relies on 19th-century solutions: human hands and basic aids like walking frames and wheelchairs. Despite high costs, these options often fail to meet the needs of carers and those cared for.

Rehabilitation focuses on improving function and independence, not just survival. From mobility and communication to motivation and quality of life, technology and innovation could transform this space, reducing costs and empowering individuals.
