Synopsis:
This upcoming session will provide an overview of the EPS EDI committee’s ongoing work and highlight recent initiatives introduced to strengthen inclusivity across the School. The session will conclude with a set of reflective questions, inviting members of the research institute to consider their own practices and priorities, and to contribute to future EDI discussions:
• How do you currently integrate EDI principles into your lab or research group practices?
• What aspects of EDI do you think are most under-addressed in your research environment?
• What should be the key EDI priority in your research institute?
Biography:
Dr. Farnaz Mohsenpour is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Heriot-Watt University. She also serves as the EPS Assistant Executive Dean for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), where she leads the School’s EDI Committee, the Athena SWAN Forward Action Plan, and drives initiatives that foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for staff and students.
