Health and Care Innovation Conference for Early Career Researchers

This event will bring together Heriot-Watt's Early Career Researchers to share their recent work in Health and Care Innovation.

This event will bring together PGRs and staff across the University to share their recent research in Health and Care related subjects, and will take place on Wednesday 25th March 2026, 1230-1645, James Watt Centre 2, Heriot-Watt University. Registration is open to all staff and PGRs at Heriot-Watt University with an interest in Health and Care challenges and solutions.

We welcome abstracts for talks and posters from Heriot-Watt Early Career Researchers (PhDs, Post Docs, Research Fellows and new lecturers) in the following categories:

Humanities subjects related to Health and Care
Economics, Marketing, Supply Chain management related to Health and Care
Sport, exercise and health
Wearable devices and home monitoring technologies

Therapeutics
Apps related to health and care and telemedicine
Artificial intelligence (e.g. for personalised medicine, drug discovery, medical imaging analysis)

Medical devices manufacturing and 3D bioprinting, Lab-on-chip, organ-on-chip and reduction of animal testing
Medical Robotics
Decarbonisation solutions for the Medical sector

PGR Student Prize

An awards committee will attend the oral and poster presentations and select 8 Prize winners from the meeting. There will also be 1 People's Choice Award. The recipients will receive a certificate and cash prize.
