Finding My Place in EDI: A Reflective Journey

Many academics value Equality Diversity and Inclusivity yet are unsure how their everyday work connects to EDI. In this reflective seminar, Dr Shoukry, a teaching and scholarship academic shares her journey of gradual involvement with EDI through teaching practice, scholarly outputs, collaboration and mentoring. Drawing on funded and unfunded projects, inclusive teaching examples and institutional work, this session explores how small intentional actions can lead to meaningful impact. It concludes by encouraging participants to reflect on their own work and identify ways they can contribute to EDI in small, authentic and achievable ways.
