Tech [Reorganised] Demo - An Introduction to Thermal Imaging for Research and Development Applications

Mon, 13/07/2026 - 11:15 to 12:00

Location:

Speaker:
Andrew Milner
Affiliation:
Thermal Vision Research (Essentially distributing FLIR cameras)
Synopsis:

I will begin with the basic operating principles of a thermal cameras, importance of emissivity, calibration, different camera technologies (LWIR, MWIR, cooled, microbolometer), what is NETD. How to select the right camera/lens based on accuracy, integration time, spatial resolution, framerate. Examples of different research applications, NDT, battery analysis etc.)

I will be bringing an LWIR A700 microbolometer camera and an MWIR A6750 cooled photonic detector camera.
