The physics of flow and chemical reactions of CO2 in porous reservoir rocks is currently a topic of interest to those involved with CO2 storage and enhanced oil recovery. In this talk I will provide an overview of investigations into the multiphase flow properties and reactive transport properties of the supercritical CO2-brine system in reservoir rocks. In particular I will discuss questions around our current state of knowledge regarding relative permeability, capillary pressure, wetting, residual trapping and our ability to model upscaled reactive processes.
