PDE-based Methods for Image and Shape Processing Applications

Methods of partial differential equations (PDEs) are widely used for many image processing tasks including image smoothing and restoration, feature extraction, and image compression. In my talk, I will review classical and modern PDE-based approaches employed frequently in image processing studies. Applications of PDE-based methods to shape processing problems will be discussed as well.
