Ghost Imaging

Thu, 10/12/2015 - 14:00 to 17:00
Speaker:
Prof Miles Padgett FRS
Affiliation:
Kelvin Chair of Natural Philosophy, University of Glasgow
Synopsis:

QuantIC is one of four Quantum Technology hubs created by EPSRC - our focus is the inspiration of quantum science to the invention of new imaging techniques targeting real-world problems.

I will present some of the Hub’s work, namely the application of both quantum and classical correlations to imaging. One system uses IR illumination to create visible light images from only a few thousand photons whilst another uses only a single-pixel detector to create a video camera for imaging gas leaks.

Lecture 2-3pm, followed by drinks reception.

If you plan to attend this event, please RSVP to pgr.eps@hw.ac.uk by 27th November 2015.
