Optical sensing for underwater applications

As a former member of the Fibre Optics Group at Heriot-Watt, now the Applied Optics and Photonics Research group, my talk will describe the development of optical fibre sensors to support underwater monitoring applications. This will include the development optical fibre laser magnetic field sensors, curvature sensors and optical fibre acoustic sensors. The talk will describe the different sensing configurations, their performance and applications.
