Synopsis:

Graphene is the first truly two-dimensional material known to mankind. Its unique properties, which differ from the parent material - graphite prompted great deal of interest over the last decade and was recognised by the 2010 Nobel prize in Physics. In my talk I will introduce some of Graphene’s exclusive properties with a particular emphasis on plasmonic and nanophotonic applications.
