Synopsis:

Photon counting detectors are crucial for high-resolution space imaging. We have developed advanced photon counting technologies, such as the WSA anode, Vernier anode, and Delay Line anode, enabling precise single-photon detection in missions like Chang'e. Additionally, we have created a grid-controlled X-ray source capable of generating arbitrarily shaped X-ray pulse profiles, as authorized by a US patent. Over four generations, we have refined these X-ray pulse sources to provide precise control over pulsed radiation, reduce background X-rays, and manage charged particles, which are essential for calibrating time-varying X-ray detectors in space applications. This talk will cover our advancements in photon-counting detectors and X-ray pulse sources, emphasizing their applications in space exploration and future missions.
