Jane Crowley
Technology Specialist, MDMC
Dr Jane Crowley is a Technology Specialist at the Medical Device Manufacturing Centre (MDMC) at Heriot-Watt University. She received her PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham in 2023 for her work developing a novel miniature endoscope for early-stage gastrointestinal cancer detection. She previously worked at the Tyndall National Institute investigating a technique for monitoring oxygen levels in the lungs of preterm infants. Her expertise lies in biophotonics and novel device manufacturing.
Alexander Hamilton
Technology Specialist, Medical Device Manufacturing Centre
Dr Alexander Hamilton is a Technology Specialist within the Medical Device Manufacturing Centre (MDMC) based at the University of Glasgow within the School of Engineering. Having been awarded his PhD in Mechanical engineering in 2023, he has previously worked within the Centre for Medical and Industrial Ultrasonics (C-MIU) as a Research Associate. His areas of expertise are primarily solid mechanics, advanced materials testing and developing novel manufacturing strategies for micro/nano-scale structures.
