In today crowded RF environments, tunable microwave filters are attracting more attention for research and development because of their increasing importance in improving the capability of current and future wireless systems. Driven by this motivation, I will briefly introduce the research background of tunable filters. Then, I will present three different classes of tunable filters including tunable lowpass filter, tunable highpass filter and tunable bandpass filter based on my Ph.D research. In general, all of these tunable filter designs achieve high performance of compact size, high selectivity and wide tuning range that are targeted for modern wireless applications.
