Medial Imaging - Aligning multiple images in a common coordinate space

Medical image registration concerns aligning multiple images in a common coordinate space. The images may be from multiple patients or the same patient, different modalities, viewpoints and/or taken at different times. Registration is often an essential step in clinical diagnosis and radiation therapy, allowing the clinician to gain a detailed understanding of the imaged tissue to allow informed decisions.

The talk will give a broad overview of medical image registration and some interesting applications.
