Trees to Barley – Planting the Bright Question?

I will review the questions that have been asked during investigations covering ‘the metabolic theory of flooding tolerance’ to the ‘optimisation of alcohol yield’ in the distilled spirits industry. In presenting some of the findings (discoveries), my aim will be to explore the extent to which the hypotheses tested (questions asked) limited or extended our knowledge of plants – ‘to boldly go where no-one has gone before’.
