Synopsis:
Phosphines are fundamentally important to the fine chemicals, pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries and most notably for their use as ligands in catalysis. Our work on the preparation of vinyl phosphines via alkyne hydrophosphination using an iron β-diketiminate pre-catalyst will be presented. Extension of this research to base-catalyzed hydrophosphination of alkynes for the synthesis of 1,1-diphosphines will also be discussed.
