Fun with Fluorine & Boron in Organic Synthesis

Abstract
Our research is focused on the development of new reactions for organic chemistry, with an emphasis on transformations of potential utility for the synthesis of biologically active molecules such as pharmaceuticals. The presentation will cover some of our recent discoveries in organoboron chemistry (including catalysts for direct amidation reactions), alongside some new work in organofluorine chemistry including an exploration of the chemistry of a largely unknown class of fluorinated organic compounds.
