We are excited to announce the next lecture in the series "Navigating Beyond the Thesis: Exploring Career Horizons for Postgraduate Students." This series aims to provide PhD students with invaluable insights into the diverse career paths available after completing their degrees.

We are thrilled to announce that the second lecture will be given by Dr Gabriele Matilionyte, Researcher Development Consultant from Heriot-Watt University. Join us as Dr. Matilionyte shares her journey and experiences transitioning from academia to Professional Services and offers valuable guidance for those considering similar pathways.

Biography: 

Dr Gabriele Matilionyte is the Researcher Development Consultant in the Research Engagement Directorate at Heriot-Watt University. Gabriele leads on research skills training and development programmes for researchers and academics (PGRs to Professors), aimed to enhance their professional and personal capabilities and future employability. Before joining Heriot-Watt in 2022, Gabriele was an Engagement and Impact Officer at the University of Edinburgh working with researchers to develop public engagement activities and enhance their research profiles online. Gabriele graduated with a PhD in Reproductive Health from the University of Edinburgh in 2021. Alongside her full-time employment, Gabriele is a director of a gardening business called Blooming Scotland.
