Synopsis:
Recent work contrasting terminal alkyne coupling reactions of rhodium complexes, bearing either acyclic or macrocyclic CNC pincer ligands, and exploring the reactivity of mononuclear palladium(I) and platinum(I) bis(phosphine) complexes will be used to highlight two unconventional approaches for performing C–H bond activation reactions.
