Cell therapy manufacturing may benefit from the use of microfluidic devices to improve certain processes. However, the fabrication of microfluidic devices with intricate microchannel geometries is a complex process and current manufacturing techniques capable of generating non-standard microchannels often rely on expensive, or highly customised equipment, which are unsuitable for large scale adoption within some industry settings. This seminar reviews several attempts at addressing this problem and discusses the problems associated with manufacturing complex microchannels.
