Developing Heterobimetallic Hydrides for Catalysis

Wed, 10/02/2016 - 16:00 to 17:00

Location:

Speaker:
Dr Mark Crimmin
Affiliation:
Imperial College London
Synopsis:

Studies in to the interaction of heavier main group hydrides (M = Al, Zn, Mg) with transition metals will be presented. For example, aluminium hydrides have been shown to reversibly coordinate to Zr(IV) and Cu(I) complexes and non-reversibly react with Rh(III) intermediates.

The application of these new complexes in stoichiometric and catalytic reactions of alkenes, fluorocarbons and ethers will be discussed
